You have a great personal style. Every day life turns into a fantasy daydream. I like this one much because the abstract background appeals to me. And it looks like she was just working with ceramics and took a little time to pose as something that famous. Symbol of power. The statue of liberty as a lovely kind person with a shy smile.
this image is from when i was in the independence day parade last year at penland craft school in western nc. this is maria a friend who was my father's teaching assistant at the time. she dipped herself in slip from the clay studio that my father was guest teaching from and then she made a clay crown.
the background is made of some antique glass mixed with beads and glass pieces i made with a torch. thanks for the comment. maria is also an artist. she makes clay art under maria white or sometimes maria mebane.
i guess how it jumped to your mind the texture idea, I'm really interested. Did it came out when you were already painting or you made the project from the beginning?
I'm interested in your working technique so much

i have been experimenting with texture and material ideas for years. i usually have a plan before i start the painting. sometimes i make discoveries along the way though. everytime i develop a technique that i am excited by i will continue to apply it as a part of future paintings. i am adding something new with each painting and that causes a learning curve.

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
